I REMEMBER (POEM)

I remember

I remember ……….

The crimson’s warmth flowing through the twisted twigs

The breeze’s melody combing the tips of the grass

N’ the drizzle’s noise pattering on the gushing streams

I remember ………

The lullaby Mom singing before my bed

The twinkling stars ornamenting the night sky

N’ the owl hooting in the silence of the night

I remember ……

The parting, the waving, the kiss and the consolation of friends

The tears, the burden, the sadness and the reluctance of leaving

N’ the warm hugs I’m longing the most now

I remember…..

A question lingering in my mind

“Will you ever come back again?”

N’ I just shrugged

Motionless, powerless and meaningless

I remember ……

The day we bid our goodbye.
